01Confirm the applicable standard

Check the required API, ASTM, ASME, DIN, EN, JIS, GB or GOST standard and edition against the project documents.

02Confirm material and dimensions

Specify the material grade, nominal size, wall thickness or pressure class, connection and surface treatment.

03Confirm the supply scope

Provide the quantity, packing, inspection and documentation requirements, destination and required delivery date.

International standard designations, grades, dimensions and units are retained. Final supply parameters are governed by the NOVUS documents confirmed by both parties.

A blind flange closes a flanged end. A spectacle blind provides visible mechanical isolation by alternating the solid plate and open ring. Any change of position or removal requires shutdown, positive isolation, depressurisation, draining and confirmation of safe conditions.

Critical selection points

  • Confirm exact type, standard, size, Class/PN, material, thickness, facing, handle orientation, gasket and bolting. Do not treat blind operation as an online valve operation.

Inspection and documentation

  • Check appearance, dimensions, marking, quantity and documents against the mutually confirmed purchase specification.
  • Chemical, mechanical, pressure/leak, NDT, PMI or third-party inspection is performed only when required by the applicable standard or order; none should be assumed by default.

Packing and delivery

  • Agree moisture, corrosion, impact and end protection for the product geometry, mass, finish and transport route. A timber case or fixed container tonnage is not assumed.
  • Confirm labels, quantities, bundling/pallet method, lifting points and destination requirements in the order.
